Extended Care

An Additional Level of Residential Drug and Alcohol Treatment

Common areas offer patients a gathering place.Research indicates that everyone in recovery can benefit from an extended level of residential drug or alcohol treatment.

Extended Care is for motivated adults and professionals who require further treatment and who can benefit from a longer stay. It is geared toward health care and other professionals, or individuals who are particularly prone to relapse or have unresolved issues, such as trauma.

With regard to impaired executives and health care professionals, their continued employment or license often  depends upon their sustained recovery. Our Extended Care Program provides an added layer of rehabilitative treatment, as it focuses on imparting critical relapse prevention tools. Pavillon works closely with professional advocacy and monitoring organizations that manage the licensing of healthcare professionals.

The Extended Care Program, including our Women's Recovery Program, is appropriate for individuals who have completed  primary inpatient treatment programs through Pavillon or another treatment center.

The program is abstinence based, gender responsive and built on the 12-Step foundation. Treatment includes extensive relapse prevention therapy and a strong focus on family and other relationships.

The Program Includes:

  • Stress management and meditation practices
  • Wellness and recreation activities
  • Caduceus meetings for impaired professionals

Issues related to stigma, finding a connection to recovering professional peers, accountability, managing high-risk social situations and preparing for a return to work, are all incorporated into individual treatment.
