Our extended care program usually follows a primary treatment (residential or IOP). It is specifically designed to address the therapeutic needs beyond the basics of understanding and transitioning into recovery. Those with trauma, personality factors, core issues, and other deeper barriers to recovery can benefit from extended care, and so can those with cycles of recovery and relapse.

Should you need an additional level of residential drug and alcohol treatment, Pavillon’s extended care program is here to support you. It’s designed to help you explore and identify the in-depth barriers to your ongoing recovery and relapse prevention.

With 24 beds available, extended care is appropriate for those completing Pavillon’s primary treatment program or are referred by a primary treatment program (residential or intensive outpatient) for extended care by another treatment center.

Extended Care House

Our extended care program is generally a 6 week program. It is gender-responsive and built on the 12-Step foundation. Treatment includes extensive relapse prevention therapy and a strong focus on family and other relationships.

Helping You Face What May Be Holding You Back

In extended care, we take a deeper dive into your personality traits, family system supports, recovery and relapse history and relationship issues. From here, we can provide enhanced and detailed relapse prevention therapy, core issue work and couples’ therapy (as is relevant to early recovery). We will also investigate any co-occurring psychiatric conditions, history of trauma and mid/later life changes.

We will also help you confront issues related to stigma, connect to recovering peers, accept and maintain accountability, manage high-risk social situations and prepare to return to work.
